30TH GOLD RUSH TRAIL
SLED DOG MAIL RUN 2022
FEBRUARY 25 - 27
Mail Run update!
We are really hoping for a return to “normal” and are actively planning the 30th Annual Mail Run.
A significant change is moving the date to the end of February. We learned last year that we have better snow conditions and it gives the mushers more winter time with their dogs so they are better conditioned for the runs.
Envelopes are now on sale! They make a great Christmas gifts so your friends can send their envelope “Delivered by Dog Team” in February 2022.

The Gold Rush Trail Dog Sled Mail Run is living history for the past 29 years. With the current pandemic, we have had to scale our event back to comply with Provincial Health Officer orders and recommendations, but, as the saying goes: "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds". The 2022 Mail Run will continue! Our dedicated mushers and their dog teams will again be sworn in as official mail carriers and will carry Canada Post mail in their dog sleds over the Gold Rush Trail to Barkerville.
Please support this special year by purchasing unique Mail Run envelopes that are sold from this website or at local outlets, stamped “Carried by Dog Team” and hand cancelled by volunteers in Quesnel, Wells and Barkerville, the three post offices along the route. Once delivered to Barkerville, this mail enters the regular mail system for delivery anywhere in the world.
The artist this year is Ramona MacLean was born half mermaid, half unicorn, so naturally she was drawn to the arts. She then was hired to do Storyboards at Bardel Entertainment, working on multiple Dreamwork TV shows including; Puss in Boots, King Julien and The Rescue Riders. She currently spends her time sipping tea with imaginary British animals and visiting unicorns in the clouds.
